Spring Training (Phoenix, AZ)
This past March, I joined the rest of the Koltun men on a trip to watch some Dodgers spring training games. We all flew out from LA (which, for the record, seems like a much more reasonable place for the Dodgers to train) to blazing hot Phoenix, AZ, where the Dodgers set up camp before the season starts. To be honest, I don't follow baseball at all (I'm about as die-easy as Dodgers fans come), but I was excited to spend time with family, see the desert, and enjoy some good Southwestern food.
Both days we were there looked something like this: wake up, eat breakfast, watch baseball, eat dinner, then chill. And both days were hot enough to make a cactus cry (ok, this is hyperbole; I saw several cacti and not a single one shed a tear). Fortunately my uncle came prepared with an ice chest, cold water, and fans that shoot mist.
All in all, the trip was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to going again next year, Lord willing! Here's some photos from the trip, shot on a Nikon L35AF2 and Portra 400.
